Wishlist :: Make-up Edition

I’m turning 30 in 36 days (but who’s counting?) & I can tell you one thing for sure…

Imma buy myself some pretty things. Treating myself is something I don’t do well. I guess that comes from basically living on one income for so long… there’s just not a lot of room for “luxuries.” And even when we do have the cash for something a little frivolous I still have a hard time indulging (hello massage gift card still sitting in my wallet from Mother’s Day 2011).

So I’m just going to tell you guys what I’m currently lusting after and you all can go out and buy them for me….

just kidding…

not really…

ok, yes I am.

Well… let’s just leave it at the fact that I wouldn’t kick a new set of 400 thread count sheets out of bed (ifyouknowwhatImean).

IRREGARDLESS (heh)…. here’s a list of things I’m considering buying myself… just because you only turn 30 once.

1. Stila In the Know Eye Shadow Palette.

I am OBSESSED with eye shadows. I could buy them all day long. I want all of the colors. I’m still obsessed with my In the Light Palette although it’s almost completely used up. ::sad panda:: This is an all matte palette which I sort of love because while I’m all for my eyes shimmering when I go out at night, I prefer more subdued and neutral for work.

2. Smashbox Photo Up Under Eye Brightener.

Let’s not pretend… between work and the kids my eyes can use all the brightening they can get.  I love the lightness of Smashbox products. They never feel thick or cakey.

3. Nars Foreplay Cheek Palette

I love my multiple in orgasm (file that under sentences I never thought I’d type on my blog) and I love that you can create different combinations of blush with this palette. It’s great for the summer because my skin is either pale, sunburned or has self tanner on it so I could adjust the blush according to my skin tone that day. Boom.

4. Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in True Red

Solely because I do not own a red lipstick & I think that it’s about damn time I did.

So what about you? What make-up products are you currently lusting after? Got any good ones for me to add to my list?

Disclaimer: All of the links are Sephora. There is no reason for that other than I happen to like shopping at Sephora. You prefer Ulta? Buy it there… I’m an equal opportunity make-up buyer.

If you turn 30 in 36 days, then I turn 30 in 37 days. Eeeek. Thanks for keeping the countdown for me.

I just ordered this yesterday with a gift card I got for Sephora on my 30th bday this week. lol!! http://www.sephora.com/naked2-P302916 I hear good things about that and the Naked 1 palette too. I decided it’s high time I tried it out. =) Let me know what you think of the blush palette, as I almost ordered the exact one instead. =)

The Naked 1 Palette is VERY similar to the Stila In the Light. I went back and forth between the two forever.

If you like Urban Decay stuff I’m also minorly obsessed with their lip junkie gloss. It’s amazing.

Ohhh! I love your make up posts!! My ultimate splurg is Rae Cosmetics! http://www.raecosmetics.com/ I’ve tried so many other brands of make up and this is by far my favorite! Whether I’m home with my kids or at school with 20 six year olds I love how this make up still looks good after a long day! I use the Climate Control Mineral Tint and the mineral powder! It’s pricy but it lasts quite a while!

I love makeup. I initially turned to makeup as something to make me feel better about myself after having the boy since the weight loss thing was going to take much longer. I love Tarte Amazonian Clay blush – that $25 compact lasted me MONTHS. I can also come forward and admit I love watching makeup tutorials on YouTube, hehe. For eyeliner I love MAC’s Blacktrack gel liner, and their Mineralized Skin Finish powder is an indulgent favorite. Also, good makeup brushes make such a huge difference!
