Sick and tired of being sick and tired

Ever since the girls started daycare we’ve been sick. There has not been a day gone by where all four of us have been one hundred percent.

There has been strep throat, allergies, colds, throwing up, snot,

SO. MUCH. SNOT.

coughs, diarrhea, fevers & teething pain.

I knew all of our immune systems would take a kick to the crotch when the girls started daycare but I had no idea it was possible for all of us to be sick with all of the things all of the time.

It’s exhausting. The kids whine because they don’t understand why they feel like crap, my husband whines because let’s face it… husbands suck at being sick and I whine because I DESPISE being sick and am incapable of sitting down & resting which means I’m stuck in a perpetual circle of cleaning, cooking, sneezing, coughing, whining, wash, rinse, repeat.

If you need me I’ll be busy surfing the web for hazmat suits for all of us to wear so we can no longer be infected with the plague.

Please send wine.

& a case of antibacterial wipes.

if you are tired of snots and kids being sick this will help you http://www.babyvac.co.nz/ I SWEAR as bad as it sounds it is the best thing ever. All my friends are using it. As long as my husband hear the idea he said abso-freaking-lutely not, few minutes later when you actually SEE it working he has changed his mind absolutely and entirely. My girl used it every single time she had snots and they didn’t last more than 1 day and a half. Let me know if you will decide to use it – i would love to know if you liked it!

I hope you guys will be good.

Aww man. It sucks when you’re sick; it sucks even more to see the ones you love sick!

I love Elderberry Syrup when I’m sick (buy it at Whole Foods – a little pricey but worth it). It beefs up your immune system, tastes GREAT, and is all natural.

Whatever your cure might be, be it time and rest or meds, I hope your family feels better soon!

(How does M manage to still look cute while using the nebulizer?!)

@Vicki @ Crowning Victoria, LOL. She may look cute but *phew* that kid is a tough patient :) . Breaks my heart though. I’ll look into that Elderberry Syrup. At this point I will try ANYTHING.

Forgive me if I am being harsh, but this is part of the price we pay for being working parents. Probably the BIGGEST price (literally and figuratively) and the one I struggle with the most. It is hands down the biggest negative to daycare.
And if I am being honest, it is not going to get better for a year or so. Winter is brutal…probably not like ours but still we are 15 months deep in daycare (not enrolled this summer) and this is the first time I can see up Brady’s nose since May. It is just the daycare culture! (Remember the one I got blasted for complaining about on LWM).
Hang in there…long road but it will be better and you will celebrate the first time your kid fights a cold (because they will always have one) instead of needing the breathing treatment or getting an antibiotic!
