Proud Momma Moment

Madison has known how to say her alphabet since about 15 months old. By  18 months, you could hold every letter up and she’d tell you what it is. So basically, she’s always been smart. (We won’t discuss how little Hannah talks in comparison to Madison)

Lately she’s been obsessed with tracing letters. We downloaded the iPAD app “Letter Quiz” and she plays it several times per week. She’s written the occasional ”M” or “A” or “O” but has never written a word.

Until last night, when out of the blue during tracing practice she wrote Madison.

I may have teared up a bit. Time just needs to slow down.

Oh and full disclosure, she needed a little direction with the “N” but she did ALL of theletters completely on her own.

Awww, how sweet! Landon still has trouble writing his name because he won’t hold his pencil correctly.

That’s fantastic! Lyla was just like Madison. Lyla wanted me to write all kinds of things. She loved it when I wrote the names of the friends in her class. She could recognize/read their names and our names at 2 years old. By 3 she was writing her name and some other familiar words. At 3 1/2 she was reading and now at 5 she reads chapter books with us at night. So, keep exposing M to letters, words and anything in print! She will be an early reader!! (That’s my professional and parental opinion!)
